Market cap filters, CIK search and a lower Funds & Underwriters price

Added

Market cap filter on six endpoints

min_market_cap / max_market_cap now work on:

  • /v1/dilution-data and /v1/dilution-data-advanced
  • /v1/dilution-rating
  • /v1/news and /v1/news-basic
  • /v1/catalysts

The same endpoints now return market_cap_final: the company's current market cap in USD from the AskEdgar screener. It is price × outstanding shares, or the reported market cap when outstanding shares are unknown.

GET https://eapi.askedgar.io/v1/news?min_market_cap=1000000&max_market_cap=50000000&date_from=2026-10-01
API-KEY: <your key>

Things to know:

  • Rows for tickers without a current market cap are left out when either filter is set, and return market_cap_final: null otherwise.
  • On /v1/dilution-data-advanced and /v1/dilution-rating, a market cap range on its own now counts as the required search filter.

Historical Dilution: search by CIK

GET /v1/historical-dilution results now include cik, and you can search with a cik parameter instead of a ticker. Leading zeros are optional, so 320193 and 0000320193 return the same company. Send ticker, cik or both. With both, a row has to match both.

Dilution Data: instrument type

Warrants and convertibles on /v1/dilution-data and /v1/dilution-data-advanced now carry derivative_type: warrant, pre_funded_warrant, convertible_debt, convertible_preferred, or other for instruments that fit none of these.

  • Filter with derivative_type set to one of the four named types. Any other value returns 422.
  • On /v1/dilution-data-advanced, derivative_type on its own counts as the required search filter.

Dilution Data, Funds & Underwriters: show_in_play

/v1/dilution-data-advanced now accepts show_in_play=true, the same filter /v1/dilution-data already had. It narrows your other filters but can't be the only one.

Screener: management commentary and share-count notes

GET /v1/screener results now include:

  • mgmt_commentary: management's commentary from the company's dilution rating.
  • outstanding_shares_description, affiliate_shares_description, restricted_shares_description: notes on how the share counts were sourced. They are null unless the counts come from a corrected filing.

Historical Float Pro: share-count notes

GET /v1/historical-float-pro results now include the same three fields: outstanding_shares_description, affiliate_shares_description and restricted_shares_description.

Changed

Dilution Data, Funds & Underwriters now costs half as much. /v1/dilution-data-advanced went from $62,500/GB to $31,250/GB, which is 2.5x the Dilution Data rate. GET /v1/pricing and /estimate show the current rate.

Unregistered instruments count as in play only after six months. On both dilution data endpoints, an instrument whose registered value says "Not Registered" now counts as in play only when it was filed at least 6 months ago. This applies to the show_in_play field and to the show_in_play=true filter, so some instruments that showed true before now show false.

Dilution Rating commentary comes from the rating itself. mgmt_commentary on /v1/dilution-rating now comes from the dilution rating instead of the company's latest cash report. Close to 1,000 tickers that returned no commentary before now return it.

Catalysts market cap filters use the current market cap. min_market_cap / max_market_cap on /v1/catalysts now filter on the company's current market cap (market_cap_final). Before, they filtered on the market cap from when the catalyst was found. That older value is still returned as market_cap.

Fixed

The Dilution Data page documents show_in_play. The parameter worked, but the /v1/dilution-data reference page didn't describe it. The page now explains it, along with the in-play rule.
