Overview

On any day a ticker hits +20%, AskEdgar generates an AI analysis of how it has historically performed on similar gap-up days — does it close strong, fade into the close, hold VWAP? Returns the most recent analysis. Poll this endpoint; there is no webhook or websocket.

When to use

• "Is this name historically a fader or a runner on a gap?" lookup.
• Building a fader/runner watchlist by rating color.

Key parameters

• ticker (required) — single symbol.

Response highlights

• rating — gap-performance color: green (closes strong more often), yellow (mixed), orange (usually fades), red (always fades).
• analysis_text — the AI-generated narrative.
• gain_percentage, volume, price — context at the moment the analysis ran.
• chart_count — how many historical gap days fed the analysis.
• post_url, created_at.
