Overview

High-conviction intraday runner sessions: days where AskEdgar's anomaly detector flagged unusual volume AND the ticker traded at more than 9x its normal daily volume. Each row is a full session narrative — the gap into the open, the spike (start time/price, duration), estimated halt minutes, intraday extremes, how the session closed relative to its range, plus premarket and after-hours context. Ordered by date descending.

When to use

  • Backtesting momentum strategies against confirmed high-volume runners rather than every gapper.
  • Building a "biggest runners" historical dataset with halt, spike, and fade context.
  • Checking whether a ticker has a history of anomaly-volume runs and how those sessions resolved.

Key parameters

  • ticker — comma-separated for multiple symbols.
  • date (exact match) OR date_from / date_to (range) — mutually exclusive.
  • min_gap_percentage / max_gap_percentage — bound the opening gap (may be negative).

Response highlights

  • gap_percentage, market_open, previous_day_close — the setup into the open.
  • percentage_gain, open_to_high_pct, high_time / high_price, low_time / low_price — how far and when it ran.
  • spike_start_time, spike_start_price, spike_duration_minutes, est_halt_minutes — spike and halt anatomy.
  • daily_volume_ratio — session volume versus the ticker's norm (always > 9 here); volume, dollar_volume, rth_volume, rth_dollar_volume.
  • market_close, close_under_50pct_of_range — did it hold the move or fade.
  • afterhours_close / afterhours_high / afterhours_low / afterhours_volume / afterhours_dollar_volume — the after-hours coda.
  • premarket_vwap, premarket_volume, premarket_dollar_volume, premarket_high, premarket_low.
  • filing_types, all_tags, market_cap.
